People are desperate for hope in the midst of suffering, and a simple word search leads them to this text: "I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." But what if this promise isn't for us, after all? And what if the true meaning of this verse is actually more hopeful than we imagine?
