Day 4: Continuing Transformation
Thursday
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
~2 Corinthians 3:18
The goal of life isn’t merely to discover who you are. It is to discover who Jesus is – and to discover how your life is intended to be a perfect reflection of His. But this imitation of Christ cannot be accomplished through self-effort. It is something God does in us, by His Spirit, as we focus and depend on Him. For this reason, our gaze must be fixed, not on a mirror, but rather on the incomparable beauty and glory of Christ.
- How do you feel knowing that the Spirit will guide you step by step through the process of sanctification?
- In what areas of your life do you “look” the least like Jesus? According to this text, how can you become more Christlike in these (and other) areas?
- According to 2 Corinthians 4:6, where can you behold the glory of the Lord? How is it possible for you to see this today? How will you act upon this?
Holy Spirit, thank you for giving me a compelling vision of Jesus in your Word. Thank you for regenerating and renewing my broken life so that his image might be restored in me. Please help me recognize the areas that you still desire to transform, and give me the grace to submit all things to you. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
Bonus Tracks! Each day, we invite you to worship along with a specific song that fits the theme of the day.
