Day 39: Continuing Transformation
Thursday
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
~Galatians 5:22-25
Jesus knows His commandments are hard – impossible to live out in our own strength. But He has not called us to produce this kind of life on our own. He has called us to belong to His Spirit. And every moment you see these qualities in your life, it is evidence the Spirit is working in you. Some days, this fruit will be readily apparent; others, we may feel like we need a microscope to see it. But Paul encourages us that, little by little, we will see the Spirit’s fruit grow as walk in faith in Him.
- In what areas do you see the fruit of the Spirit in your life?
- What areas of your life would you like to see more evidence of fruit?
- What changes will you make to seek and surrender to the Spirit’s fruit-bearing work in your life?
Spirit, thank you for your power at work in me. I want my life to bear your fruit each day. Please reveal to me my areas of weakness and transform me by your grace. Encourage me as I see evidence of your Spirit’s fruit. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
