Day 33: Engagement
Friday
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
~1 Peter 4:10-11
One of the many ways God manifests His grace is by giving gifts that enable us to serve one another in word and in deed. So in a very real sense, it’s His words every time we speak the truth in love; it’s His power every time we lend a helping hand. And a single act of kindness done by God’s grace can both meet a need and magnify the goodness of Christ at the same time.
- What are some gifts that God has given to you?
- In a typical week, how do you use God’s gifts to build up and encourage others in the local church?
- What’s one way you will engage your gifts in a systematic way for the good of others around you?
Lord Jesus, thank you for saving me and giving me gifts of service by your grace. As I live to make much of you, I pray that you will take these gifts and use them for your glory. Open my eyes to see the needs around me, open my lips to speak your words, and open my hands to serve in your strength. Cause others to experience your generosity through me. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
