Day 32: Continuing Transformation
Thursday
…including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
~Romans 1:6
So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
~2 Corinthians 5:17-20
Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.
~Colossians 3:17
People often think of vocation or calling as a challenge of discovering that one, specific, unique purpose God has for them in their work. And until they discover it, they either agonize over the discovery or they treat work as a sort of necessary evil. But if we start with God’s sovereignty over everything and the clear call in Scripture for followers of Christ to participate in His Kingdom everywhere, we can live our calling in every moment, starting now.
- In what ways have you treated your work/vocation as something separate from your “Christian life”?
- How might your work look different if you started each day, each interaction, by asking what the Lord intends to do with it?
Lord, I acknowledge your sovereignty over everything in my life. Please show me what you’re already doing in this time and place. Make it clear to me how you want me to be an ambassador for the Kingdom of Heaven right here and now. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
