Day 25: 40 Days of Grace
Day 25: Continuing Transformation
Not that I have already obtained this [resurrection] or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
If you really understood the treasure that you have in Jesus Christ, you would gladly give up everything in order to follow him. Every other prize, every other priority, and every other purpose would pale in comparison to the pursuit of Jesus and His salvation. You would reorder your entire life around the central goal of knowing Christ and being transformed into His image one step at a time.
- If you knew that your time was short and you could only do one more thing, what would you do? What would you prioritize with your investment of time and money?
- What are some specific, concrete ways you prioritize your continuing transformation into the likeness of Christ?
- What will you do today to lay aside another priority that distracts you from chasing the ultimate prize?
Lord Jesus, knowing you and experiencing your grace is a treasure that surpasses anything I can imagine. But I struggle to live as if this is true. So often I find myself chasing the same priorities and pleasures as everyone else. Please forgive me, clarify my vision, and renew my heart to follow after you. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
