Day 15: Gospel-centeredness
Monday
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
~Galatians 5:1, 13
Good news! By the authority and grace of Jesus, the power of sin has been broken and the debt of sin had been paid. You are no longer a slave to sin. You are free to serve a new master – a Savior who loves you and gave Himself for you. In Jesus, sin cannot control you and the law cannot condemn you. You are now free to let the law lead you into the joy of a God-centered, God-patterned, God-glorifying life.
- In what ways were you a slave to sin apart from Jesus?
- In what ways were you a slave to the law apart from Jesus?
- What will you do today to celebrate the freedom that is yours in Jesus Christ?
Lord Jesus, thank you for breaking the power of sin over my life. Thank you for setting me free from the condemnation of your law, which I have broken more times than I even know. Help me to use my freedom not to continue sinning, but to love and serve you – and to love and serve your people. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
