Day 11: 40 Days of Grace
Day 11: Continuing Transformation
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.
The Christian life is not about behavior modification, as if God says, “Just stop doing that and start doing this.” The fact is you will never experience Gospel transformation until you change the way you think. And you can’t do that unless your mind is being continually renewed by the Spirit and the Word. This is a key to Christian growth: keep exposing your thoughts to God’s thoughts, asking Him to renew and shape the way you think.
- How has your thinking changed since becoming a Christian?
- What does it mean to “set your mind on things above”?
- What are some ways you could expose your thinking to the mind of God? How will you do that this week?
Lord Jesus, you call me to put on a new “me” that is a reflection of your attitudes, actions, and words. But I confess that all too often, I look like anyone but you. Knowing my need for a transformed mind, I ask you to show me your thoughts and to give me the humility and passion to adopt these as my own. For Christ’s sake, Amen.
